If PDX chose for all players, that only up to date mods could be used in Stellaris, that would be a huge bummer for the modding community and mod users, because in fact most mods are not kept up to date for version to version by their progammers. Could that be an issue and if so, how and which folders would i have to make special rules for (no clue about these depths of the OS on my side, sorry)?

On my PC is Win10 pro version 1903 in 64bit and i read it now has additional ransomware protection. The result is the same, mods are not present in game. Meanwhile i have also tried to start Stellaris double clicking the *.exe file, circumventing the launcher. On next startup it updated itself properly from there, so i left it there. So based on hints on the forum I relocated the launcher to the D:/ drive, besically into the Stellaris folder, i also had the edit the location path file on C:/ to make this work.

After release of the "new" launcher, the launcher was by default located on C:/ drive at first, but it had an issue with obviously faulty file paths, and so it would not update itself from there. Games (including Stellaris) and Steam are on my D:/ drive. Win10 is on my C:/ drive as any operating system should be, all standard windows folders are also there, so are the PDX-installed user files and folders there. Being unable to load mods into the game is incredibly frustrating to me. PS: The launcher lacks most basic functions (scroll / sort / mark / group modfiles) and is way worse than old you for your support, hope we can get this to work again. PS: Please release working and properly tested products in the future is it maybe intentional, that from v2.5.1 one cannot use outdated mods any more (cant fathom)? what exactly makes the game callup an installed mod? how and where does the launcher lookup installed mods and which files are involved?

If this persists i have to shelve the game. i tried unsubbing and resubbing mods, no effect (as someone suggested in mods forum) i deleted the secret launcher cache folder, no effect (as suggested on reddit) i deleted the *.json launcher file, no effect (as suggested on reddit) i tried relocating the launcher files, no effect (was necessary though to make launcher update itself) i have asked in the mods forum, no useful pointers i have asked in the launcher thread on general forums, no answers All mods were downloaded and working in earlier versions of Stellaris, until the "new" launcher" was added.

Affects all mods, even cosmetic, even music etc. The "new" launcher hinders me to use outdated mods (Win10 all updates, Steam, test branch, game v2.5.1, launcher 2019.10.4), it is showing the mods, i can switch them from grey to green (and the launcher even keeps how they have been set), but they are simply not present in a new game. After asking everywhere and looking up every possible solution, i am still unable to solve the following issue, and it drives me nuts to say the least:
